Pregnancy acupuncture is becoming more popular with many midwives and obstetricians now recognising the benefits of acupuncture in supporting a healthy pregnancy and birth.
Some benefits of receiving regular acupuncture throughout your pregnancy are:
Alleviate nausea, fatigue, and common pregnancy discomforts
Support hormonal balance and emotional well-being
Reduce stress and improve sleep quality
Prepare your incredible growing body for birth
What to Expect at Your Pregnancy Acupuncture Appointment
Each treatment is tailored to your unique pregnancy journey. While you relax, fine, single-use needles are placed on specific acupuncture points to promote optimal balance depending on the stage of your pregnancy.
It is my aim to provide you with a warm and nurturing space to feel supported throughout your pregnancy journey. Whether you're in your first trimester or preparing for birth, I am here to support you through the inevitable changes in both body, mind, and spirit and help you to bring your precious little love Earth side.
If you’ve never had acupuncture before and have questions, please check out my FAQ’s at the bottom of the page.
How Many Pregnancy Acupuncture Sessions Should I Have?
Studies suggest that weekly acupuncture may benefit you in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, particularly if you have been experiencing morning sickness and increased nausea.
While it is safe to continue acupuncture throughout the entire course of your pregnancy, generally we will pause treatments from 12 weeks and invite you back from 36 weeks to begin labour preparation.
Of course you are welcome to receive acupuncture through any stage of pregnancy should you wish to continue. Anyone, anytime, can benefit from receiving regular acupuncture.
Acupuncture treatment may be particularly helpful during pregnancy to ease any discomfort you may be experiencing in your growing body.
